Artists

Here are some of Fuel Radio's favorite artists, friends and family:

Ari Neufeld - Ari's CD was a family fave for over a year - still is. If you have ever seen Ari perform you know he is an artist who gives it all he has. Here's a little bit about Ari in his own words:

"I live in the hills of the Okanagan... I make rhythm with my feet... scoops and stomps on a little wooden box I found in my grandfathers tool shed. I make melodies with my fingers and tongue and teeth and lips. I play the guitar. I travel. It's a work in progress, but it is getting acclaim from the strangest places. Famous people that have recently said cool stuff about it include Riley Inge (Temptations), Tegan Quin (Tegan & Sara), Wil (Minimnaugh), Andrew Smith, Damien Rice, David Wilcox, Gil Zsabo, Terry Kaiser, Rik Leaf, Bill Kennedy, Joel Kroeker. It's a cross between highly ambitious flailing live one-man action, folk rock, contemplative swooning, drunken craziness and dark lullabies, with a heavy seasoning of humor throughout." Gabrielle Papillon - We just met Gabrielle in June 2010. She was travelling across the country with Jon Bryant. What a great time we had. I loved her music right from the start by checking out her Myspace page. What a joy to have her in our home for a few days! Here's a little bit more about Gabrielle:

"Gabrielle has been singing all her life. Her concert going experiences began in the womb, when her parents attended a Grateful Dead concert. She began humming her own melodies as a toddler and, writing her first songs at fourteen as soon as she learned her basic chords on a guitar. She and her brother formed numerous bands in high school and rehearsed constantly in their basement. Between them they cannot remember the names of any of these bands—but fond memories of electric shocks due to ungrounded equipment abound"...Read more: CLICK HERE To Listen: CLICK HERE

Jess Janz - Jess is a talented songwriter and musician. For her age, her songs have the depth of someone much older than her. Here's a bit about Jess in her own words:

"Well I am Jess, and I do artsy things like doodle on paper and hum to myself and get paint on my elbows and carry a journal around everywhere and drum on my legs when I sit on buses and play the guitar and my friend Andrew says that my wooden earrings make me artsy too. I like putting words and sounds together to form songs that are written while I sit on my bedroom floor, and sometimes I play them in other places like in the corners of coffee shops and on various forms of stages. I think we all have our own light we bring and I have a funny one, somehow I can't help but take note of this bright world we live in and tell others about what I've seen, how I've seen it and how it's made me feel"...Read more: CLICK HERE To Listen: CLICK HERE

Jon Bryant - We were actually introduced to Jon through Jess Janz. They were Muskoka Woods pals and Jess introduced us to Jon's music. It was love at first listen. Here's a little bit about Jon from his Myspace page:

"Half a decade ago, Halifax native Jon Bryant packed his bags and journeyed across the sea to Europe to travel and unravel the thread surrounding his purpose in life. While backpacking across the hills of Austria and breaking the soles of his dirt-stained feet in Greece, Jon began to write songs...Read more: CLICK HERE To Listen: CLICK HERE

Jonathan Inc. - We first met Jonathan when he just 12 or 13 years old. We're not sure, but we may have even created the first band that Jonathan ever played in too at PPAC, but that is way too far back for us to even remember. Anyway, Jonathan's gone on to become an amazing artist, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. We love his latest CD - lost:time. Check it out! - CLICK HERE.

Karla Adolphe - We first met Gary and Karla Adolphe at a small coffee shop concert in Langley, BC about four yeras ago and a deep friendship had begun. We love these guys!

From Karla"s website: "Karla Adolphe is an award-winning singer/songwriter with a gypsy-heart. Karla is known for excellent songwriting, powerful vocals and the ability to create heart-felt moments both at live concerts and on her multiple recordings." Read More: CLICK HERE To Listen: CLICK HERE

Old Mare - Old Mare is the creation of our buddy, Chris Janzen. Here's a description of Chris' new music project: "From the rolling country side of abbotsford, set in the low lands of eagle mountain, cheam and baker, comes OLD MARE, with tales of love and love lost, GOD and the devil, blood spilled and tears shed. gambling, booze, and cigarettes, long stares into horizions soaked in memories"...To Read and Listen to More: CLICK HERE
